Do's And Dont's of our Role Play Empty Do's And Dont's of our Role Play

Hi all. Welcome to this forum.

When is comes to role play, the biggest Don't that i cannot stress enough is DO NOT POWER PLAY. You are not boss, nor are you GOD. Each and every wolf, cat, and other unnamed creatures has it's advantages as well as its disadvantages over the other. An example of this could be a 'bigger more power wolf' against a 'smaller more quicker wolf'. As playing as the bigger wolf, you cannot say you strike the other wolf killing it that instant, that is power playing. The smaller wolf has his chance too; he may not be able to do that kind of damage, but he can easily dodge the other wolfs attacks due to his own size. this is an example of advantages over disadvantages, use them wisely and PLAY FAIRLY.

Each and every good role player is willing to take hits from you and even role play his own death if he is fighting a better opponent, he does not need you to role play his death for him (so dont). Play to your own style, and make your moves based on what YOU would do, and if your role playing in a fight or a sparing match with another, make your counter moves based off of what you would do as well.

    STYLES OF ROLE PLAYING:
The more detailed the better, although sometimes detail cannot be used at the moment as a quick reply is needed. THAT IS OK.
Styles of role playing is different between every person, so you have to constantly be keeping note of each person as the meanings of their RP can differ as well.

Paragraphing in Role Playing is great, it leaves room for more detail and something more interesting to read.
Writing short sentences of short lines are also OK, although they do not leave much room for greater detail.
Writing only things you say and nothing more is not ok unless you are a learner.
Think of it this way: everyone likes ribs for dinner right? (if you don't pretend you do for a second). Role playing is like having ribs for dinner; it consists of a bone holding it together, and the meat around it that satisfies the meal. In role playing, the more detail you go into, the more "meat" you place onto the "bone" leaving yourself and others with a more satisfying role playing sample.

Here is some examples of different ways you could sample a role play:
this scene is of a wolf siting next to a river in the rain that is strung in thought.

a not so great role play would be:
::he is sitting next to the water thinking in the rain::

yes this is straight to the point, but it does not satisfy the readers because it does not have any meat to the bone structure of the sentence.
Instead, aim more for something similar to this:
::he sits near the river, his black fur coat dripping of fresh water than falls from the sky. He calmly watches the water as it rushes by, haunted by his past memories as he sits there. he looks up and closes his eyes giving a warm smile, welcoming the much needed rain as it runs down his muzzle through his fur, and onto the earth beneath him::
this has more meat to the role play and is satisfying to the readers that read this.

I hope this all helps. Enjoy and PLAY FAIRLY.
